ABOUT US
Freedom Riders is an equine assisted activities therapy (EAAT) program for children and adults with special needs. Riders are grouped into small classes based on age and ability, so individual goals can be successfully met. Classes include horse care skills, stretching and coordination exercises, riding skills, and games. Safety equipment is used at all times.
Our trained and experienced staff include instructors certified by North American Riding for the Handicapped (NARHA) and a specialist in developmental disabilities. All aspects of the program are overseen be a program coordinator and governed by a board of directors that is comprised of professionals, parents, volunteers, and other concerned citizens.
We are very fortunate to have  wonderful facilities located at 1051 Atlantic Highway in Warren, ME for our use. There is a large barn with an indoor arena, eight stalls, a tack room, an enclosed viewing room, outdoor mounting blocks, corrals, and trails.
