Benefits of therapeutic horseback riding

Both the physical movement of the horse and the emotional human-animal bond work to improve the rider's balance, posture, flexibility, muscle-tone, and coordination. Benefits may also include: improved sensory integration, increased attention span and listening skills. Equine assisted activities therapy (EAAT) gives individuals a wonderful sense of independence and freedom.

Who can gain from Freedom Riders?

Both children and adults can benefit from the wonderful therapy of horseback riding. Individuals with cerebral palsy, Spina Bifida, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, head injuries, learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, developmental delays, visual, auditory and language disorders, and more can accomplish their goals through equine assisted activities therapy.
